Encouraging and
equipping students for Christ-centered, Servant leadership
in the 21st century
Encouraging : MHCSM is known as a place of
encouragement (exhortation "Heb. 10:25). The entire program will always glorify
Christ by worshiping Him in all that we do-whether by thought, word, or deed.
This in turn, creates an environment of encouragement.
Equipping :
It is our purpose to equip students through the knowledge of God's Word,
service opportunities, and personal challenge.
Christ-centered :
Jesus Christ is our focus, purpose and example in life
and ministry.
Servant Leadership :
Christian leadership is servant leadership. Christian
leadership is based on a "Go" (Mark 16:15) mentality rather than the much less
effective "come" mentality which is not biblical. "Go" means to go to them-the
world-and serve them. Leadership refers to taking initiative when an opportunity
for service presents itself. The students of MHCSM are taught to pray, look
for opportunities to serve, forulate a plan to accomplish the task, and take
action. This is based on Matthew 5:16. "Let your light shine before men in
such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in
heaven."
Ministries
Leadership Challenge
Competition-gives you tons of opportunities to step up in leadership
roles.
Coaching Groups-meet together with a small group (5-8) of teens
your age and gender: plan activities and get "discipled" by your coaching group
leader.
Victory Bible Camp-MHC's very own church camp. This camp has a
reputation for sun, fun and life change.
Aletheia-this isn't just a
choir, but a dynamic ministry that reaches out to people through song!
TV
Ministry-we're on TV-help us with this ministry!
Sound
Ministry-are you technically gifted? Get trained, help out.
Drama
Ministry-M/M's Ministry in Motion-there are currently 19 teens involved in
this innovative ministry!
MHCSM Praise Team-Do you like to sing-can
you play an instrument? Help us lead worship on Wednesday
night!
Missions-USA and Abroad.
Events
All Nighter-We stay out all night Bowling,
Swimming, Lazertag, etc.
Back 2 School Bash-An end of the Summer blow
out at Victory Bible Camp.
Free Triple EEE Night-100% free food,
movie, or other entertainment.
S.N.A.C.-Sunday Night After Church
twice a month we go to different students homes to hang out and have
fun.
Spring Chicken Retreat-Too crazy to describe this. Just think 2
nights, 3 days at Victory Bible Camp, chicken football, rubber chickens and
chicken pot pie.
Ski Trips-Colorado, Virginia, etc.
YOU'RE
INVITED
Every Sunday morning before Church (9:30-10:30) we have "Extra Mile". We gather for a time of Bible
teaching. We have two classes: Jr. High and Sr. High. Our study materials are
focused on helping you navigate through this tough life at school, home, or
alone. (This stuff actually helps you in your day to day life!)
MHC Student Ministries meets from
6:45pm to 8:00pm each Wednesday night. Each night is a little different from the
week before. A message from God's Word is given, prayer requests are taken, a
different student gives a devotional, challenges are presented, friends are made
and cokes and junk food are served.
We also grow in Christ
through
Friends__Genuine friendship, fellowship: Being friends to
Jesus Christ and one another.
Purpose__Understanding why you're supposed to be
doing.
Challenge__Growing as
servants-leaders by reaching out to others in exciting ways-in your schools and
around the world, through the power of God's Holy Spirit.
Truth__Distinguishing fact from fiction
in a world of deception, by studying the Bible-God's directional love letter to
us.
